Kate Hudson’s a master of the “adorably sexy” vibe, but how does the actress, singer, and Glee scene-stealer pull it off We’ll never truly know without hidden spy cameras, but these new images from Almay’s new Color + Care Liquid Lip Balm campaign might give us some helpful hints.
Taken behind-the-scenes on Hudson’s shoot and sent exclusively to ELLE.com, the pictures have Kate lounging by a serene swimming pool in anyone-can-do-it poses.
Don’t even get us started on the wide, easy smile and long, princess-worthy hair, because yes, she’s got that, too. Of course, there’s also something to be said for Hudson’s makeup of choice: a luscious lip with just the right amount of shine and color adds fun and allure to any woman… even if she’s not Penny Lane.
In a behind-the-scenes video Kate joked that a good lip balm is equally as important to her as her kids.
“I couldn’t live without my babies, music and lip balm,” Kate shared in the Almay video.
“With a good lip balm it is kind of a lifesaver. Especially if you are outdoors with weather and when lips get dry.”
Kate will always have a lip balm tucked away in a purse or pocket. She reapplies the product frequently, which she jokes is in sync with how often men have dirty thoughts.
“I was so excited for Almay to start doing lips, as for me, if there’s one thing I’m carrying in a purse it’s a lip balm,” she explained. “I think I apply lip balm as many times as men think about sex.”
The 34-year-old is seen posing around a pool as she models the shades in the new lip balm range. Kate gushed that the range of balms is great for moisturising lips and for giving them a hint of colour.
“Today we are shooting the new campaign for Almay liquid lips,” Kate told the camera. ”I have all ten colours; I keep them in all my purses and pockets. I love this coral one – it’s really great for making green eyes pop, I think. They absolutely hydrate and are very good for cold weather. I always ski with them in my pocket, so that is a good sign. It has a make-up look without getting in the way or getting your hair stuck in it.”

Looking effortlessly cool the Almost Famous star gave away just a glimpse of her bikini beneath her pale peach colour cover-up.Around her waist she wore a brown belt to give her outfit some shape and she kept it simple with a pair of flip flops. She completed her great beach look with a pair of peach-rimmed sunglasses and with her hair off her face in a casual style. After a while she got up and walked along the sand, leaving Matt to have some time on his own to unwind.
Later that day the loved-up couple headed to a bar where they reclined on some sofas and tucked into a couple of delicious looking cocktails.

Kate Hudson and husband Matt Bellamy could be starting their own brand of wine, as reports claim the couple are looking to bottle their own vintage. Muse star Matt Bellamy is amongst a string of celebrities who have ventured out into the wine industry lately. According to Life and Style Matt has told friends that the couple are looking to source their very own grapes for their tipples.
The Something Borrowed actress and her fiancé, both 34, have allegedly announced to family and friends that they want to begin selling their HudsonBellamy Rosé wine to restaurants and bars. Choosing to offer a new Rose to the market, the pair are said to have described the blend as “crisp, bright and perfect for upcoming summer.”
Its thought that the two stars have offered friends and family members the chance to exclusively purchase cases for themselves before the wine goes on sale to the public. Matt recently spoke on family life to The Sun earlier this month, revealing how his life has changed since having his young son Bing with Kate: “You focus on the needs of a child being in front of your own, and that’s an amazing experience.”
“When you’re flitting about all over the world you can get caught up a bit in your own needs and wants. ” He explained before adding, “But as soon as there is someone else there, it puts it in perspective. It’s a really healthy thing. Family life is all about love. “
Tom Wilkinson has been cast alongside James Franco and Kate Hudson in the upcoming thriller, Good People, according to a report from ComingSoon.net. Wilkinson, who has previously been nominated for two Academy Awards for his roles in Michael Clayton andIn the Bedroom will play a role that has not yet been specified by the film’s producers.
The crime-drama will be directed by Oscar-nominated Henrik Genz, and it follows a young American couple, presumably played by Franco and Hudson, as they fall into debt while living abroad in London. After their neighbor dies, the couple finds $200,000 cash in his apartment, and when they decide to use the money to settle their debts, they find themselves dealing with some, well… not-so-good people.
Good People is currently filming outside of London and is expected to be in theaters sometime next year.

Every girl thinks her mom is the most beautiful mom around — and Kate Hudson is no different. So the Almay spokeswoman enlisted her gorgeous mom, Goldie Hawn, to shoot a Mother’s Day spot for the beauty brand that celebrates the vivacious mother-daughter duo.
Hawn and Hudson exclusively spoke to PEOPLE about all the things mothers and daughters do, from raiding each other’s closets to making (and breaking) beauty rules. PEOPLE: Kate, was there anything you coveted in your mom’s closet? Kate: Mom’s closet was always open. Mom was always into Alaïa, so there were all these cute, tight bodysuits that she wore all the time. I always got into her closet when I was growing up. Goldie: What daughter doesn’t? Katie made her own clothes. She was always her own stylist. If she picked and chose through my closet it was completely out of curiosity. She would always put her clothes together, even when she was a little girl. I was not a buyer of fancy clothes, Katie will tell you. I think she remembers a few fancy things I got her, but she created her own style. Kate: We weren’t a big clothes-buying family, except for back to school. We were more of an active family, dance and sports; going shopping was really a treat when it happened.
PEOPLE: Do either of you have an era of style or beauty where you’d like to burn all the old photos? Kate: Let’s see, I don’t know. It’s so weird to be objective. If I was extremely self-conscious, sometimes I just put things on and don’t think about it. Goldie: Wait ’til you get to be my age. You’ll realize you’re putting your clothes on inside out!
[Both laugh] Kate: Mom, you’ve been putting your clothes on inside out since I was six. Goldie: When I was in dancing school, I wore my clothes inside out. Kate: I was actually looking at pictures of mom in the ’70s that were amazing. Her hair was stringy and wavy and her eyes, her eyelashes, the mascara was incredible and she has this big coat on. Mommy got to live in a time, the ’60s, ’70s and ’80s, so much fun. Goldie: Oh God, style was so great then. I think one of the great eras was the ’70s. We were dealing with a lot as a nation and style was very specific. Today’s style is all over the place. These designers were coming out with prints and edgy ideas. The hip-huggers in the ’70s were the best era, they came up over your hip, lower in the front and back and it was just flattering and beautiful and extreme. It was pretty fabulous.
PEOPLE: Any family rules about when you could wear makeup, get your ears pierced — anything like that? Goldie: Yeah, no tattoos! Kate: [Laughter] [Ed note: Oops, sorry mom! She's got one on the top of her foot.] Goldie: That was like my big one. Ear piercing we did –how old were you, honey? Kate: I think I was like 6 or 7. Goldie: There were rules. Kate: We weren’t really into rules. Goldie: It was more about behavior. For makeup and all that stuff, Katie has been putting on makeup since she saw me in the makeup chair. Kate: It was more behaviorial. I never felt like there were rules, but it was about how I acted.
PEOPLE: Goldie, are you the type of mom to tell Kate, “Stand up straight!”? Goldie: No, no. I threw her in ballet class when she was very little. She was destined to be in the world of show business because she was very flamboyant. But I wanted her to be able to walk into a room and have presence of body and be squared off. And have that feeling. To me, dance was everything and it raised her that way. I don’t think I was terribly critical. Or I tried not to be. Sometimes she’d say, “Mom, your nostrils are flaring, why are you looking at me that?” But I wasn’t strict like that. Once she decided to paint our toy Maltese, Paula, pink. Kate: I took blush, I wanted to put makeup on her! I was very little, I didn’t know better. Goldie: But it was so great because it was artful. I thought it was horrible but it was awesome. Kate: I think Paula liked being punk! Goldie: I will never say that Katie didn’t have style from the very beginning.
